Taiwanese pianist Chen-Yang Wen has performed throughout Austria, Germany, Russia, Spain, Italy, and Taiwan.
Chen-Yang began his musical journey with piano at the age of 6 and viola at the age of 8. He is currently studying with Prof. Dirk Mommertz at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. He completed his Bachelor's degree at the Taipei National University of the Arts under the guidance of Professors Tzu-yu Kou and Mei-Ling Wang, and later studied with Prof. Rolf Plagge at the University Mozarteum Salzburg. Additionally, he has participated in masterclasses with esteemed musicians such as Michel Béroff, Pavel Gililov, Eugen Indjic, Milana Chernyavska, and Ya-fei Chuang.
Since 2022, Chen-Yang has faced a profound challenge after being diagnosed with focal dystonia, a rare neuromuscular condition that severely impacted his ability to play. Despite this setback, his unwavering passion for music fueled him through a year of intensive rehabilitation and recovery, leading to his successful return to the stage in late 2024.
Chen-Yang is a laureate of the “Mandarin Daily News” National Piano Competition for Young Pianists (2009) and the Taiwan International Classical and Traditional Music Competition (2018). He also received the Taipei National University of the Arts Chamber Music Prize in 2017. His studies and artistic endeavors have been supported by scholarships from the Ministry of Education of Taiwan and the University Mozarteum Salzburg.

As a dedicated chamber musician, he co-founded the Egon Trio alongside Korean violinist Wonbeen Chung and Spanish cellist Sofía Torres Durán. The Trio has captivated audiences across borders, performing in several countries, while garnering critical acclaim along the way.
